On Monday the 11th of December the Year 3 children and parents were transported from freezing, snowy Hayes to warm, exotic Brazil! After learning much about the country of Brazil, the children decided to invite their families into school to have a Brazilian fiesta.
They created delicious empaanadas, a traditional dish from Brazil, which their adults enjoyed. There was also a quiz about Brazil. The children were delighted that they beat their parents and knew more information about the country. (Although most parents knew a lot from helping their children with their Brazil Projects!)
Throughout the afternoon, the children wore vibrant masks they had created when learning about Carnival, and taught their grown ups some Brazilian salsa moves! Thank you to all of the adults who attended. It was an afternoon enjoyed by all!
