Decoding Enjoyment of Texts Understanding, Inference and Prediction Discussion
       
 7.1.a.1 seek assistance in  understanding new vocabulary encountered  7.2.a.1 develop an appreciation and love of reading, and read increasingly challenging material independently through: reading a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, including in particular whole books, short stories, poems and plays with a wide coverage of genres, historical periods, forms and authors.  7.2.e.1 understand increasingly challenging texts through: checking their understanding to make sure that what they have read makes sense.  7.2.j.1 recognise the ways in which other people's views on a text may differ from their own
